I obtained a bachelor degree in Wildlife Conservation and Nature Reserve Management at the Northeast Forestry University. When I began my undergraduate career, I had the opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of courses in zoology, all of which reinforced and solidified my interest in wildlife conservation.
In order to deepen my understanding of wildlife conservation and ecosystem services, I decided to continue my studies at Beijing Forestry University. As a post-graduate student, I have had the opportunity to do field work in a wide range of ecosystems, including China’s Gobi desert, the north-eastern plains and south-western mountains.
I am particularly interested in ecosystem services and health, mammal ecological function, population distribution and habitat dynamics. More specifically I am interested in understanding in more detail the function of large carnivores in ecosystem processes and developing more suitable management strategies in wetland and farming areas, which aim to reverse damage to ecosystem functions caused by human activities (e.g. reducing the budget of greenhouse gases).
My future work will relate to Indo-Chinese tiger conservation in China, where I hope to contribute significantly in developing effective conservation interventions.
Research Interests Conservation Biology; Multiple Ecosystem Services (e.g. wetland and grassland); Felid Conservation; Global Climate Change; Wildlife and Natural Resources Management.
Current projects I have already participated in a considerable number of projects during my undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Each project gave me new opportunities to witness and address conservation problems. For more information please refer to my CV.
