On 24th September 2014, Professor Wang Guiming from Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Mississippi State University together with his collaborator Wang Xinrong of the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences visited the Wildlife Institute, Beijing Forestry University. Professor Wang’s research interests and teaching objectives focus on wildlife ecology, population dynamics, and movement ecology. He has conducted research on the ecology and management of wild turkeys and American beavers in Mississippi and Alabama as well as behavior evolution of social mammals in Inner Mongolia. He gave a talk on “Movement Ecology in spatiotemporally heterogeneous environments” and discussed with Dr Shi, Director of the Wildlife Institute, about potential collaborations: in multiple aspects of student exchange programs, jointly constitute a working group of wildlife management and how to build a new and efficient scheme for deeper and long term cooperation. The meeting received a great success and built a strong base for future communication and cooperation.
