I joined WI in July 2013,and am currently completing my MSc in Wildlife Conservation. I graduated in June 2013 with a focus on science in the horticulture department of Hebei Normal University of Science and Technology in Qinhuangdao. During my time at Hebei Normal University of Science and Technology I majored in landscape ecology. With the realization that our ecology plays a vital more in our society, I decided to continue my studies and join the College of Nature Conservation at Beijing Forestry University.
At WI, I quickly got involved in a variety of projects focusing on animal ecology with the help of my supervisor and colleagues. So far I have participated in the following projects: 1) July 2013: I took part in the social survey field investigation on snow leopard and human conflicts conducted under a Grant provided by the Snow Leopard Network in Gansu Qilianshan national nature reserve. 2) August and October 2013: I participated in a research project related to snow leopard behavior in zoos. 3) January to march 2014: I conducted my first field season for my MSc work related to assessing the status of snow leopard prey in Gansu Qilianshan national nature reserve.
In the future I am interested continuing research on snow leopards in north-west China, as well as ungulates habitat selection and activity patterns.
